WHAT IS SPOOL SOCIETY?
Spool Society is a collective of auto enthusiasts who are passionate about cars…but sometimes wonder if they’d be happier if they chose a less expensive and difficult hobby like painting or playing the piano where keys don’t randomly explode while you’re doing a pull. This shop sells high-quality funny car merch (depending on your sense of humor) funding my channel, build, and future.
My Story
5 years ago, a broke college student saved up 3 months of stimulus checks by continuing to eat chicken tenders and ramen in his $250/mo apartment, and managed to muster up enough cash to buy a 2011 BMW 335xi. That broke college student was me. Naturally, the car I drove 3 hours to get broke down 5 miles from the dealership, and had to be fixed and shipped back to me a few days later. Damn water pump. Having found a car that was finally even less reliable than my former Subaru’s…I was instantly in love.
Fast forward 6 months…the car was “FBO” (full-bolt-on) and I had began to build a small Instagram page named “3 Reaper”, which I posted pics I took of my car on daily. Over the next 4 years, I wouldn’t do much more to the powertrain other than upgraded ancillaries, and would slowly customize the aesthetic until I was happy with it, and then pretty much immediately sell it. I bought several other cars during this time period, including a e46 330i, E70 X535D, and WRX that I lifted for no reason. By this time, I had changed my platform name to “voidwalker335” and built a sizable following around funny car content.
PRESENT DAY
And that brings us to now. Before selling my 335i, I bought a F22 BMW M240i with a HANDFUL of mods including a DAW 2.5+ & DS2, pushing about 600WHP on the e50 map. I am working on building that, on my 3rd rename, “voidrvnner”. So why did I make Spool Society? Because this car ain’t cheap and I like making funny car memes & figure some of you could use some funny car clothing too.
